SCIENTIFIC ALERT! 
A giant mass of hot rock beneath New England is slowly moving towards New York, and scientists are baffled. 
This
phenomenon, known as the Northern Appalachian Anomaly (NAA), is nearly
400 kilometers wide and lies about 200 kilometers underground, spreading
across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island
and Vermont.
The most surprising
thing is that it's nowhere near any volcano. It was discovered by
researchers in the UK and Germany using a kind of "computer tomography"
of the planet, and confirmed that it is moving southward, directly
toward New York and New Jersey.

It is still unknown what caused this anomaly or what its effects will be, but millions of people live right in its path.
IMPORTANT: Although not an immediate danger, experts warn that such a
mass of heat could affect pressure on tectonic plates over time,
increasing the possibility of seismic activity in the future.
As a preventive measure, it is a good idea to have an updated family
emergency plan, know the exits of your home and have a small kit with
flashlight, water, radio and copy of essential documents at hand.
